What we need
Symbotic is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join the electrical design department. In this position, you will drive the work of the team in the conceptualization, design, analysis, fabrication and testing of Symbotic's automated material handling equipment.

What you’ll do
Lead the design of Industrial Electrical Control Panels and Machine Schematics for compliance with UL508a, NFPA70, & NFPA79 standards.
Interface with the internal Industrial Controls Team, assisting with PLC testing, programming, and troubleshooting.
Play a hands-on role in the design and drafting of ground up Industrial Automation Electrical Systems.
Lead production by investigating build failures, build issues or field failures.
Guide the research of outside sources and evaluate electro-mechanical components such as controllers, connectors, sensors and actuators.
Define protocols, writing test plans and conducting the necessary testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).
Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
Travel to customer sites to support new installations (up to 35%)
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Control's Engineering, Computer Science or a related Field.
12+ years of working experience.
Strong experience in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN Electrical, and SolidWorks Electrical.
Expertise in programming, troubleshooting, debugging Rockwell Automation ControlLogix PLCs.
Knowledge of Industrial Automation Safety Standards.
Command of UL508a, NFPA70, and NFPA79 standards.
Solid knowledge in standard Industrial Automation Communication Protocols (Ethernet/IP, ASI, DeviceNet).
Ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, real-time team environment, prioritize projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints.
Strong interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of motor controls and robotics preferred.
