What we need
Symbotic is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Supply Planner to lead and drive repair material availability for our SymBots across customer sites. This role is critical in ensuring seamless operations by optimizing inventory, material availability and supply chain processes. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with executive-level stakeholders and deliver results in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. This role will also be customer-facing and require someone with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers around operational needs.
What we do
Our global sourcing, procurement and third-party supplier team develop innovative category management strategies in collaboration with the business. The team focuses on strategic third-party partner agreements and help support supplier relationship management, commercial and financial pricing models for overall supplier performance.
What you’ll do
Develop and execute comprehensive material planning strategies to ensure optimal repair material availability for SymBots at customer sites.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses, ensuring alignment with operational and customer requirements. This role will develop safety stock strategies targeted at keeping customer bot fleets operational.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Procurement, and Logistics, to streamline supply chain processes and enhance efficiency.
Utilize SAP to create and maintain accurate material availability, track material movement, and analyze supply chain performance.
Serve as the primary liaison with executive-level stakeholders, delivering concise, data-driven insights and updates on material planning and operational performance.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks or disruptions in the supply chain, implementing proactive measures to mitigate risks.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting accuracy, reduce lead times, and optimize overall supply chain operations with cross functional teams.
Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for planning and material management processes.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 8 years in Production Planning, Supply Chain, and Inventory Management.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven success in engaging and influencing executive-level stakeholders. This role will be customer-facing and requires demonstrated skill in interacting with customers/executive-level stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive alignment toward shared objectives.
Highly organized, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data visualization tools.
Certification in supply chain or production management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
Experience in a manufacturing or technology-driven industry.
Our Environment
Up to 20% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
